Emergency & After-Hours Cancellation Policy
Because emergency and after-hours notary services require immediate availability, late-night travel, and schedule prioritization, the following cancellation policy applies.
Client Cancellations
Clients may cancel an emergency or after-hours appointment up to one (1) hour before the scheduled service time without penalty.
If a cancellation occurs within one (1) hour of the scheduled appointment, or after the notary has already begun travel, the emergency service fee is non-refundable.
This policy accounts for reserved time, availability, and travel commitments.
No-Show Policy
If the notary arrives at the location and the signer is unavailable, unprepared, unable to proceed, or no longer wishes to complete the notarization, the emergency service fee remains non-refundable.
Notary-Initiated Cancellations (Unforeseen Circumstances)
In rare situations, the notary may need to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to:
Vehicle issues or breakdowns
Sudden illness or emergency
Severe weather or unsafe driving conditions
Facility access restrictions beyond the notary’s control
In these cases, any emergency service fee paid will be fully refunded or credited toward a rescheduled appointment, at the client’s choice.
Payment Acknowledgment
By requesting emergency or after-hours service, the client acknowledges and agrees to this cancellation policy and understands that emergency service fees compensate for availability, travel readiness, and time reserved.
