Scope of Services
Reliant Mobile Notary provides professional notary services in the State of Michigan, including but not limited to acknowledgments, affidavits, jurats, powers of attorney, wills, adoption papers, and other documents permitted under Michigan law. We offer mobile notary services at locations convenient for our clients. Unless otherwise stated, our services do not extend to legal advice or the drafting of legal documents. As notaries, we serve as impartial witnesses to the signing of documents and verify the identity of signers. We are not attorneys and cannot provide legal consultation or representation.
Scheduling and Appointments
Appointments may be requested through our website, contact forms, email, or by phone once our business contact information is available. Services are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to accept, reschedule, or decline appointments at our discretion. Clients are responsible for providing accurate contact information and ensuring that all required documents are prepared in advance of the appointment.
Fees, Payments, and Refunds
Fees for notarial services are based on Michigan’s notarial fee structure, as well as additional charges for mobile travel, convenience, or remote online notarization where applicable. A full explanation of fees is available upon request or may be posted on our website. Payment is required at the time of service unless prior arrangements are made. We accept payment through approved methods such as cash, credit or debit card. Failure to provide payment may result in cancellation of services or refusal of future service requests. Refunds are not given on completed notarizations. Refunds are only given if there was proven error.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are required to present valid government-issued identification in accordance with Michigan notarial law. The person whose signature is being notarized must be present during the notarization, even during remote online notarizations. Clients are also responsible for ensuring that all documents are complete prior to notarization. A notary may not proceed with incomplete documents, blank spaces, or documents that appear fraudulent.
Limitations of Service
Reliant Mobile Notary does not guarantee that notarization will be completed if legal requirements are not met. For example, if a signer cannot present valid identification, appears unwilling or coerced, or does not demonstrate capacity, we are required by law to refuse notarization. We are not responsible for the legal sufficiency, accuracy, or enforceability of the documents being notarized. Our role is limited to verifying identity and witnessing signatures.
Privacy and Data Collection
Our handling of client information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our services, you acknowledge and consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal data.
Compliance With Law
Reliant Mobile Notary complies with the Michigan Notary Public Act and all applicable state and federal regulations. Clients must also comply with all relevant laws when requesting our services. We reserve the right to refuse service where a request conflicts with the law or exceeds the authority of a Michigan notary public.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reliant Mobile Notary shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to the use of our services. Our liability, if any, is strictly limited to the amount paid for the specific notarial act giving rise to the claim. We do not accept responsibility for damages resulting from the legal sufficiency of documents, improper use of notarized documents, or decisions made by third parties who rely on notarized documents.
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations should be made as early as possible. If travel has already occurred or if the notary is en route, a travel fee may still apply. Refunds are issued at the discretion of Reliant Mobile Notary and will not be provided where services have already been performed.
Changes to Terms
We may update or revise these Terms of Service and use from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, laws, or services. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
